The Department of Psychology focuses on the study of mind and behavior.
Psychology majors become adept at research methods, data analysis and problem solving; they learn how to think critically and how to communicate effectively; they learn how to apply social psychology concepts to everyday life and how to understand the complexities of socio-cultural differences and human behavior. These skills that can be applied to many occupations and disciplines. Forty percent of psychology majors go on to law school or business school. Other options include career counseling, case management, child care, market research, probation and parole, rehabilitation, sales and advertising, and social service.
We want our students to feel free to discuss their thoughts on controversial social and political issues in the classroom.
